A special multi-family intensive attachment therapy event for any family struggling with a child diagnosed as reactive attachment disorder. This event is also an opportunity for therapists to receive training in the Family-Centered Regulatory Therapy approach. Educational material included.

What were you NOT told?

Adoption is TRAUMA. Every year thousands of children are placed for adoption into hopeful, yet completely unsuspecting homes. Many of these children come from the earliest environments of neglect and abuse. Robin Karr-Morse identified it best when she described the impact of early abuse and environment as, ‘Ghost from the Nursery’.

Even with the latest scientific findings regarding the brain and physiology, the majority of professionals do not understand that trauma can and does take place for many children during their unborn, in-utero experience. In addition, despite the life-long experience of the majority of adults adopted as children, many professionals do not recognize that even the earliest adoption creates a traumatic experience for the infant. Even the infant adopted at birth!

The earliest break from the biological caregiver is a traumatic experience that often times goes unacknowledged and not validated for life!

Furthermore, the lack of awareness given to the trauma that occurs during the adoption process is carried over into the lives of adopting families. In this manner, families are unsuspectingly led to believe that they are adopting children, whom despite their early orphanage, abuse, or neglect experience, can become ‘normal, healthy children’.

Unfortunately, though many adopted children go on to live comparatively normal and healthy lives, a large percentage struggle with interpersonal issues that are never addressed, and some struggle in nearly every area of life! Such children go on to receive numerous years of therapy and receive diagnoses ranging from Reactive Attachment Disorder and Bi-Polar, to Depression and Aspergers Disorder among many others.

How has your family been impacted?

Trauma creates an impact on the neurophysiologic system that can render a child unable to feel safe in any environment. Thereby leaving the child experiencing a constant, and prolonged state of stress or dysregulation, which correlates most accurately to the emotional state of FEAR.

Prolonged fear and stress experienced by one member of the family eventually takes its toll on every member of the family. In addition, any traumatic event that has not been integrated previously in the lives of other family members, begins to get triggered into active unconscious behavior, hence creating a perpetual ‘Trauma Environment’ for all members of the family.

In other words, if you as the parent have experienced early traumatic stress that has not been effectively integrated into conscious awareness, then exposure to high levels of stress from another individual will cause you to re-experience the past emotions of the event in present time.

Now, there is something you can do!

If you are an adoptive parent that has been struggling with your child’s behavior for years without finding a meaningful understanding for what is going on in your child’s life, then you owe it to yourself and your family to attend the one year of healing.

Through paradigm shifting education, and intense emotional experiencing within a supportive environment, the Post Institute treatment team will assist your family in shifting from an operating platform of fear to a healing platform of love. The essential premise being that we only have two primary emotions love and fear. As long as you operate from a platform of fear, you will be unable to experience the healing power of love. Underlying the behavioral dynamics of families struggling with children commonly diagnosed with RAD, Bi-Polar, and Depression, to name a few, can be found the root emotion of fear. Fear must be explored, expressed, processed, and finally understood and integrated before it can be meaningfully transformed into the guiding principle of love.

Is your family ready?

The Post Institute has found that the most effective means to treatment is through the involvement of all immediate family members. In this manner, everyone living in the home will be involved in the treatment process, ALWAYS beginning with the parent system.

Get Empowered. Be the parent you intended to be.

As the parent you are the foundation to healing in your child’s life.

One of the biggest barriers to successfully treating children is that they are typically treated outside of the family unit. The Family-Centered approach recognizes the dire need for involving every member of the family, and working with the family as a complete unit. In this manner, you are assisted in moving beyond the mentality of blame, which is fear based, to one of empowerment, responsibility, and love.

Children are Welcome

We encourage families to bring their children, however because of time constraints there may only be enough time to work with two children per family.

During the first day and a half of the parent focus, there will be attendants available to watch the children. A number of games, videos, arts and crafts will be set up for their entertainment separate from the main hall. Swimming outdoors will also be available.

What can you expect after it's all over?

Have you ever wondered if family harmony were possible?

The answer is a resounding yes, and it is possible in your family.

A mother once told me that if nothing else came out of our work together, she wanted to be able to sit down and have a family dinner.

Can you imagine? Her family had never sat down to a family dinner minus conflict.

The following morning after our first day of work was completed guess what mom reported back to our team?

You guessed it…the evening after our first day her family had a successful family dinner!

Healing is a journey. It is an ongoing process. You can expect to operate at an entirely different level of understanding and harmony following just four days.

Does that sound to good to be true?

Here’s what these parents had to say:

Bryan, I've been amazed over the time that I've known of you and your theory of parenting how much my daughter has healed. We still have a ways to go, but typically that is in my development.  We've both healed so much emotionally. We haven't seen my daughter’s Attachment Therapist in 14 months now. I ran into her at the grocery store last week and she couldn't believe the difference in my appearance as well as my affect. What a blessing you've been to us!!

God bless you, Bryan,

C.M.

Dr. Post,

“This was a weekend I will never forget. It was a life-changing time of renewal and hope for my family. I acquired a new understanding of both myself and my child. The camaraderie of working and learning with other parents was especially encouraging. I have even kept in touch with some of them since the Parent Boot Camp. You truly have a unique gift and a passion for working with families and relationships. Thanks for sharing it with us.”

L.S.

"Probably the most profound thing in working with Dr. Post is that your whole life will completely change and no one in your life has to change!   His unique method of treatment calls for you to discover your truth, for you to be the vehicle of change first in yourself then in the world around you through understanding what is blocking you from truly living a fulfilling life.  He will show you the way to yourself, to reclaiming your power."

N.T.

“What a radical departure from what we have learned up until now about RAD and recommended therapy. You present a much more logical, compassionate, less confrontational, and more understandable approach, that appears to have a greater positive potential in effecting change in both child and the parents.  Thank you for all of the time and commitment you’ve given to us both directly and indirectly.”

C.R.

“Two years ago my son had very poor social skills and no conscience at all! He was on the verge of being expelled from school because of his behavior. He made friends easily, but couldn't keep them. He cared only about himself. But he has come so far since our intensive. He is getting along with kids and adults so much better. And he actually cares about others. Recently, he wanted to take a class at church on sharing your faith. He has a college-age prayer partner for the class and they meet each week to pray for his friends. He decided to have a get-together so that his prayer partner could meet the friends that they pray for. I let him invite whomever he wanted over last night. I really didn't think anyone would accept his invitation and I was really worried that he would be heartbroken. Well, 8 sweaty Jr. High boys showed up - I was shocked! They were skateboarding, playing video games, eating, and listening to Christian music on a CD by his prayer partner's band! They had a blast and all of them want to go to the Jr. High youth group meeting at church with my son on Monday. This definitely wouldn't have happened two years ago before work with you.

Thank you soooo much.”
